Trick-or-treaters will enjoy pleasant fall weather, and plenty of places to go this weekend, for the annual event.
Halloween falls on a Sunday this weekend, when most curfews will be enforced in Panola’s municipalities. (See side bar).
But some events are planned for Saturday as well. In Batesville, the second annual Trick or Trunk begins Saturday morning on the Downtown Square.
The Main Street-sponsored event begins with the Costume Walk at 9 a.m. The “trunk” giveways will follow the walk at 10 a.m. at Batesville Memorial Park.
Children are encouraged to wear costumes for the walk. Winning costumes will be announced afterward.
Both the Costume Walk and Trick or Trunk are free.
For a daylong event, Fiddlin’ Rooster Farm in Water Valley will hold its Halloween-themed activities Saturday.
A corn maze, costume contest, pig races, and pumpkin patch are among activities at Fiddlin’ Rooster.
Admission is $8 for children 11 and under, and $11 for adults. The Farm can be reached at 662-473-5005.
Cossar State Park, having survived budget cuts so far, will continue its annual Halloween activities.
Games, cake walk, and a haunted trail are among the Cossar activities that begin at 6:30.
The radiology department at Tri-Lakes Medical Center will x-ray Halloween candies for free both Saturday and Sunday.
