DSU Goforth

Destin, Fla.–Batesville golfer Grant Goforth of Batesville led Delta State University with a combined score of -2 under par 142, and finished in second place overall following a one-hole playoff with Joey Bradley of Trevecca Nazarene College.
Goforth and his DSU teammates finished second overall after the final round of the Indian Bayou classic last Tuesday, just two strokes behind the tournament champion North Alabama Lions.
North Alabama finished the second round with a 281 shooting 18 strokes better than their opening round score and finishing with a tournament total 580. DSU finished round two shooting four strokes better than their opening round with a 289 and a tournament total of 582.
Chase Smith finished in a tie for third with a score of 143 while Austin Smithers finished tied for sixth shooting a 145 while Trent Adams entered the club house tied for 25th and turning in a score of 153.
Jordan Breaux rounded out the scoring for DSU, shooting a 158 and finishing tied for 39th place.
The DSU team played Monday at the UNA Fall Classic in Florence, Ala.
