Showoff on the Square Attracts Hundreds
By noon Saturday, over 200 beautifully restored antique cars had arrived on the Batesville Square for the Mississippi Delta Street Rods first “Showoff on the Square.”
Mississippi Delta Street Rods spokesman Ronnie Hinton said he was overwhelmed by the turnout for the one-day show. The vehicles filled both sides of the Square, overflowed onto the courthouse parking lot and surrounding areas.
Vehicle owners were vying for more than 70 trophies in assorted classes as well as for other prizes, but mainly they just enjoyed the opportunity to display their vehicles to an appreciative audience as well as have an opportunity to see the works of other auto owners.
Trophies were to be awarded at mid-afternoon.
