A 16-year-old is charged in the June 30 killing of his step-mother.
His father, also wounded in the shooting, has also passed away.
An arrest warrant was issued late Thursday for the juvenile, Matthew Ryan Jacobs, said Sheriff Otis Griffin.
The teenager is currently at The Med in Memphis.
Crystal Jacobs, 29, was pronounced dead early Wednesday morning at her home, at 2970 Paul White Road, east of Como.
Her husband, Tommy Jacobs, 35, was in critical condition Wednesday at The Med.
He was on life support at noon Wednesday, said Griffin.
The sheriff said late Thursday he learned the family had taken Jacobs off life support.
Tommy Jacobs had been air-lifted to The Med after deputies and emergency personnel arrived.
At the time, Griffin also reported that the 16-year-old was shot and was undergoing treatment at the The Med.
“The 16-year-old juvenile was shot in the hand and later turned up at the Senatobia hospital,” Griffin told The Southern Reporter.
Radio traffic from local authorities Wednesday morning indicated that a Panola County deputy traveled on an ambulance from the Senatobia hospital with the 16-year-old.
With the investigation in the early stages, Griffin did not elaborate on the connection between the 16-year-old and the shooting. But other sources had indicated that he was the son of Tommy Jacobs and considered the primary suspect in the case.
Crystal Jacobs was a stay-at-home mom, a family friend told The Panolian.
Mr. Jacobs operated heavy equipment.
Two girls live in the home but were not present during the shooting, said the friend.
“We got the 911 call around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday morning,” Griffin said.
