Letter to the editor

Headmaster expresses appreciation for “catching criminals in the act …”

On behalf of the students and teachers and North Delta School, I would like to thank the Panola County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in stopping a series of break-ins on the North Delta campus.

Our school this spring experienced several thefts in and around our fieldhouse and equipment barn, and sheriff’s deputies recently did a great job in catching the criminals in the act of breaking in. We especially thank Deputy Fred Sanders and Deputy Carlton Hays for their hands-on work on this successful effort.

It is sad for a school to have to turn to cameras and security measures to protect our assets, but it is encouraging to know that we have dedicated law officers to help us when we are experiencing a problem.

Thank you, Sheriff’s Department!

John Howell Jr.
