Golf tournament

Golfers Bill Hartman (left) and Tony Maples purchased “mulligans” from Batesville Exchange Club representative Jeff Herron prior to tee off at Saturday’s “Caring for Kids” tournament at the Panola Country Club. A mulligan is golfing’s equivalent of a “do over,” and their sale at $5 each adds to the funds raised for child abuse prevention at the tournament. Golfers had beautiful if warm weather Saturday but when a low turnout of scramble teams threatened to reduce the amount of benefit, the Firs
