Tigers receive long-awaited rings

As the cumulation of a job well done, the South Panola Tiger players received their long-awaited state championship rings last Thursday night in a ceremony in the high school gymnasium.

Tiger head coach Lance Pogue and his assistants recognized top players and passed out rings to each player.

Top players recognized were 2009 Mississippi Association of Coaches 6A All-State first team defense were Justin Wright, Al Hentz and Qyendairus Griffin.

First team offense by MAC were Nicklos Brassell and Domonique Carothers.

The MAC second team defense was Taylor Rotenberry and second team offense was Deshondrick Hines.

The MAC All-State defensive player of the year was Devin Clark and offensive player was Nicholas Parker.

The Region 1-6A football first team members are Brassell, Carothers, Martize Wallace, Hines, Kendrick Market, Griffin, Hentz and Wright.

Region 1-6A defensive MVP was Devin Clark and overall MVP was Nicholas Parker.

Named to the Clarion-Leder All-State first team offense were Parker and Brassell. On second team offense are Carothers, Hines and Wallace.

On The Clarion-Ledger first team defense are Clark, Griffin and Market. On second team defense is Isaac Gross.
