The Batesville Junior High baseball season came to a disappointing end Monday night with a 7-6 loss at Grenada in the second round of the Tri-Lakes Junior High playoffs. Cody Harbour led the Tigers at the plate with a double and single while Landon Fullilove, Jesse Pearson, Clay Harbour and Bailey Lawrence all collected singles.
J.C. Harper pitched the first two innings for the Tigers, giving up one earned run on one hit and a walk. Pearson followed by surrendering five runs (three earned) on four walks in 1.2 innings of work. Cody Harbour finished out the game by recording the final out of the fourth inning.
Batesville gained a split in the doubleheader by blanking the Chargers 6-0 in a non-district game. Hays Hudson doubled while Nathan Gabbard singled in the victory. Macen McGee and Hunter Ivy pitched one inning each for the Tigers.
