Mark Lipscomb polled 240 votes to Everette Hill’s 237 in a close race for Como Mayor during Tuesday’s special election balloting.

Election workers completed counting about 11 p.m. Tuesday night. On Thursday at 2:30 p.m. they will meet again to review 25 affidavit ballots cast by voters.

The special election for mayor will determine the successor to the late Judy Sumner, who died Jan. 9. The term will last until 2013.
