Panola County authorities announced late Monday that a 16-year-old mother has been charged with murdering her newborn infant.
Linda Nash has been charged as an adult. She was taken into custody Monday afternoon after being released from a hospital, said Assistant District Attorney Jay Hale.
Her bond is set at $100,000, Hale said.
Preliminary autopsy reports show that the baby boy died from stab wounds according to sheriff Otis Griffin during a news conference Monday afternoon.
