SP Tiger freshmen split with Grenada

The South Panola 9th grade basketball teams traveled to Grenadaon Tuesday to start the new year with the girls taking a 24-20 win and the boys falling 31-18.

The girls scored eight points in the first half but came back scoring 16 in the second. Grenada scored eight in the first half but only added 12 in the second. Destiny Brandon put up eight points for the Lady Tigers and Chresha Brown added six. Shaniqua Carr added four along with Marla Rudd. Toping it off was Erika Chapman with two.

The boys only scored 11 points in the first half and seven in the second where Grenada scored 17 in the first half and 14 in the second.

Scoring for the Tigers was Tevis Flowers, 7; Jaylen Lee, 6; Austin Wolfe, 4; and Eric Booker, 1.
