ND vs. Magnolia Heights

After dropping a 49-41 verdict last week in the Magnolia Heights tournament, the North Delta Lady Green Wave gained a little revenge on the Chiefs by posting a 46-45 road victory Monday night in Senatobia.
Bradi Beard held the hot hand for North Delta, (13-8) by scoring 13 points while pulling down seven rebounds to go along with five steals. Lauren Kimzy followed with nine points while Laci DuBravec added eight and three assists. Madison Greenlee and Sara Waldrip chipped in with four points each while Lindsey Hebert and Katelyn Still registered three. Hanna Greenlee finished out the scoring with two points.
The North Delta boys made it a sweep in varsity action by downing the host team 55-49 to improve their record to 8-5 on the season.
Sophomore Chris Brown led the way for the Wave with 16 points. Corbin Baker and Bryan Nickle followed with 12 points. Jim Tom Copeland contributed with nine while Geri Lamm and Derrick Shawn each had three points.
In junior high play, the North Delta 7th & 8th grade girls were victorious 15-5 while the ninth grade breezed past Magnolia Heights 51-29.
Charla Shea Darby scorched the nets for 23 points including seven three pointers and five steals to lead the Green Wave. Hastings Neal registered a double-double with 16 points to go along with 14 rebounds.
Erin Snider followed with five points and eight boards while Callie Blake Masterson chipped in with three points, four steals and four assists.
Juianna Morrow and Mary Lynn Lewis added two points each. Morrow swiped 13 of North Delta’s 34 steals in the contest. Courtney DuBravec pulled down six rebounds and three steals in the winning effort.
