Marilyn Ann Bolen
COURTLAND— Marilyn Ann Bolen, 50, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at her residence.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Marilyn was born May 16, 1959 in Marks, to the late Causy Quay and Mary Ann Morgan Bolen. She was a member of Courtland Baptist Church and Courtland Fire Department Auxiliary. She was a long-time dispatcher for the Batesville Police Department and the Mississippi Highway Patrol as a Drivers Licenses Examiner. She collected raccoons, loved Aven Cole, loved to cook and Facebook, also enjoyed talking on the telephone, flowers and deer hunting.
Survivors include: her sister, Carol Bolen Brewer and husband Barry of Courtland, and long-time companion, Tommy Bolton of Courtland, and his son, Heath Bolton of Courtland and one nephew, Brandon Brewer of Courtland.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Regina Carol Bolen and twin infant brothers, Teddy and Freddy Bolen.

COMO— Maggie Lea Dew, 90, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services were Thursday at Ray Nowell Funeral Home in Sardis. Burial was in Union Baptist Cemetery. Ray Nowell Funeral Home had charge
Dew, born Sept. 19, 1919, to the late Tal Lay and Susie Hughes Lay Long, was a member of the Como Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, L.G. Long Sr. and her husband, Hubert Dew.
BATESVILLE— Gwendolyn “Gwen” Ruth Birdwell Hartzell , 81, died Friday December 4, 2009, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
Services were at Independence Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Hartzell, born January 31,1928, to the late Curtis and Desdemona Ackerman Birdwell, was a substitute teacher at Pope School and also a member of the Independence Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and held many positions, such as elder, past president of the Mississippi Presbytery at Saint Andrew, and many other Presbyterian Women organizations. She was an active volunteer in many local and city organizations.
She is preceded by her husband, Jack T. Hartzell.
Survivors include: four daughters, Sandra H. Darby of Batesville, Georgia H. Craig of Laurel, Dale H. Shankle of Batesville, and Jacqueline H Cagley of Baton Rouge La; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

SOUTHAVEN— Jerry Lee Long, 75, died Saturday, December 5, 2009, at Desoto Healthcare Center. He was the brother of Flora Mae Gentry of Crowder.
Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Belen Cemetery. Charlie Simmons will officiate. Kimbro Funeral Home has charge.
Long, born May 22, 1934, was a Baptist.
Survivors along with his sister include: one daughter, Cathy Ashmore of Belen.
SOUTHAVEN— Kenneth E. Riales, 66, died Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Services were Monday at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven. Burial was in Davis Chapel Cemetery in Sardis. Twin Oaks Funeral Home had charge.
Riales, born June 28, 1943, in Como, to the late Preston and Katherine Riales, attended Boulevard Baptist Church. He was an Army National Guard veteran. He was a retired auto body repairman.
Survivors include: his wife of 43 years, Kay M. Riales; two daughters, Lisa Riales Johnson and Robin Riales Jacobson, all of Southaven; three brothers, Robert L. Riales of Nesbit, James C. Riales of Byhalia and Fred H. Riales of Gresham, S.C.; two sisters Mary L. Gray of Senatobia and Wanda R. Bennett of Cascilla and two grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Boulevard Baptist Church Building Fund.
OLIVE BRANCH— Frances D. Robison, 87, died Friday, December 4, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto.
Brantley Funeral Home has charge.
Robison was a retired employee of Holiday Inn, she was a member of the Batesville Baptist Church and the Batesville Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Robison.
Survivors include: one daughter, Judy Pitcock Morrow of Olive Branch; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.— Sandra “Sandy” Seale Turner, 61, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, after returning from visiting with family and friends in her childhood home of Batesville.
Services were Saturday at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church followed by a graveside service at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville on Sunday. Ruebel Funeral Home had charge.
Turner was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and graduate of Ole Miss. She had many accomplishments of which she was rightfully proud, including bringing her style and good taste to the public as a buyer for a Memphis department store and later after her marriage and move to Little Rock, helping to create and operate the KATV consumer hotline “Seven on Your Side” where she mentored and befriended countless young Junior League of Little Rock members.
Survivors include: her daughter, Jane Withers Turner of New York City, N.Y.; a step-daughter, Mary Frances Isakov of Saverna Park, Maryland; her parents, Billy and Jane Seale of Batesville; brothers, Brent Seale of Vicksburg and Forrest Seale of San Antonio, Texas; aunts and uncles, Harvey and Georgia Seale of Batesville, Polly Gilmer of Hernando and Frances Seale of Batesville
