Panolian’s latest poll finds favor
Sixty-five percent, or 153 of 235 votes cast in Panolian.com’s unofficial poll, indicated that they would take advantage of Batesville’s new Sunday alcohol laws that went into effect last Sunday.
Aldermen voted in September to repeal the city’s “blue laws” that would make it legal for convenience stores and other retailers to sell beer between noon and 10 p.m.
In Batesville, on-premises consumption is now legal between the hours of 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Sundays following action by the Miss. Tax Commission.
The Panolian poll is a new feature on the updated newspaper Web site.
