Albert Brassell
OXFORD—Albert Brassell, 68, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. He was the step-brother of Juanita Web of Batesville.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Tallahatchie -Oxford Missionary Baptist Association Building in Oxford. Visitation will be held today from noon – 7 p.m. at Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home in Oxford.
Brassell was a member of Harrisonville M.B. Church in Oxford.
Survivors along with his step-sister include: his wife, Lizzie Brassell of Oxford; three sons, Gregory Brassell of Cordova, Tenn., James Brassell of Oxford and Sidney Williams of Rock Island, Ill.; three daughters~ Makeisha Morgan of Oxford, Letasha Austin of Oxford and Sandra Dennis of Oxford; three brothers, Fletcher Brassell Jr., Howard Brassell and Andrew Brassell all of Oxford; three step-brothers, J.B. Franklin of Oxford, Roy Buford and Clarence Buford Jr. all of Alton, Ill.; three sisters, Ora Campbell of Oxford, Bernice Stinson of St. Louis, Allie Terrell of Alton, Ill.; four step-sisters, Clara Wilson of Denver, Colo., Dorothy Love of Oxford, Katie Wilson and Bettie Peel both of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild
Zerrick D. Faulkner
SARDIS—Zerrick D. Faulkner, the two month old son of Lashundra Black and Derrick Faulkner of Sardis, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009, in Sardis.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Hammond Hill M.B. Church Cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home has charge.
Survivors along with his parents include: one sister, Quintasia Armstrong of Sardis; one brother, Derrick Faulkner of Sardis and his grandparents, Elizabeth Black and Clyde Black of Como, Shirley Faulkner and Johnny Faulkner of Como.
MADISON—Jan Foregger, 63, of Madison, Miss., died Monday, October 19, 2009.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Foregger was born January 3, 1946 in Jackson to the late Edward John and Bobbie Elizabeth Tumasz.
She was a retired teacher of 25 years, helping educate children in Hammond, La., Water Valley and Oxford. She attained her master of arts in education from the University of Mississippi in 1980, and fulfilled post-graduate studies at the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State University in special education.
She had a passion for gardening and being outdoors, and was known for her “green thumb” when caring for plants. She was a volunteer with the Special Olympics, and worked as an advocate of mental retardation awareness.
Survivors include her son, Barin von Foregger and his wife Belinda of Brandon; one brother, Johnny Tumasz of Kosciusko; one sister, Mary Lena Lackey of Madison, Miss.; and four grandchildren.
CROWDER—Teresa Latrice Griffin, 28, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at her residence.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter M.B. Church in Sardis. Rev. Allen Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
Griffin, born April 30, 1981, to Shirley Oliver of Sardis and Harold Person of Memphis, was a member of First Oak Grove M.B. Church in Crowder.
Survivors along with her parents include: her grandmother, Maggie Oliver of Sardis; two daughters, Tiara Lasha Oliver and Cekeidria Michelle Griffin, both of Crowder; one son, JaQuaylin Malik Oliver of Crowder; two sisters, Lisa Jones of Sardis and Carolyn Oliver of Oxford and five brothers, James Curtis Oliver, Derrick Oliver, Micheal Oliver, Cedrick Oliver, all of Sardis and Greg Oliver, of Oxford.
