The town and school are sprucing up the paint and cleaning out the corners in preparation for tonight’s nationally-televised game between the homestanding South Panola Tigers and the visiting Memphis University School Owls.

Both schools are reporting excitement over the first-ever contest between the teams.

The game will be televised live on ESPNU. Last year, South Panola hosted Apopka, Fla. on ESPNU and SP won 28-18. ESPNU is channel 614 on DirecTV and channel 148 on Dish Network.

South Panola is ranked No. 2 in The Clarion-Ledger Prep poll and tied for Madison Central at No. 1 in the Associated Press Poll. MUS is ranked No. 2 in the Tennessee Associated Press Prep Poll.

Not only will South Panola be at home tonight, but North Panola will be hosting its third consecutive game against South Delta and North Delta will play its first home game of the season against Clarksdale Lee. The South Panola game will kick off at 7 p.m. and not 2 p.m. as incorrectly reported Tuesday. North Panola and North Delta will kick off at 7:30 p.m.

South Panola will be selling tickets for tonight’s game at the high school office from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. School officials are asking fans to paint the stadium red and are selling ESPNU T-shirts for $10 each from youth small to adult 3X.

Ticket booths open tonight at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 for general admission and $10 for any reserved seats remaining.
