Busy Friday on tap for Panola teams; Three home games scheduled

It will be a busy week and a busy night Friday in Panola County. All three football teams will be home.

South Panola has the big game hosting for the first time ever Memphis University School. It will be televised live on ESPNU.

“We ask our fans to paint the stadium RED by wearing “red” that night,” said South Panola ctivities director Kaye Smythe. “We have a special red shirt available at the high school for $10 for this game.”

Tickets for the game will be on sale on Thursday and Friday at the high school from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.  MUS started selling tickets yesterday morning.

T-shirts will also be available at this time.

The ticket booth and gates will open at 5:30 Friday. Gates at the home concession stands will be available for season ticket holders to enter. There is a Pass Gate to the right of the home ticket booth for persons with district and state passes. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

“Please remember that students in eighth grade and under must be accompanied by an adult,” Smythe said.

North Delta will be hosting longtime rival Lee Academy in its home opener at 7:30 p.m.

North Panola will also kickoff by hosting South Delta from Rolling Fork. Kickoff for this game is 7:30 p.m. also.

Also, on the Dates of Interest will you put that the TIger FunFest is Sept. 19 from 10-2 to meet the Tigers and have some fun on the football field. The event is sponsored the the SP Athletic Foundation. Admission is $2 for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult, and $3 for anyone 13 and older.
