Veteran advertising manager and sales consultant Dianne Medley has joined The Panolian as marketing director, newspaper co-owners Rupert and John Howell announced.
Medley comes to The Panolian with over 20 years of experience in daily and weekly newspapers and in radio. She most recently served as advertising director at the Greenville Delta Democrat Times.
“Dianne is the right person at the right time to stretch our customers’ advertising dollars and make them most effective,” publisher John Howell said. “This newspaper is dependent on the success of its advertisers; Dianne has a proven record of working with her customers to make them successful,” Howell added.
The new Panolian marketing director will lead a sales team that includes classified advertising representative Cassie White and display advertising sales representative Carol Knight. The Panolian advertising director Bob Boggan is currently on medical leave.
Medley’s marketing will include the blend of media produced by The Panolian, including the Tuesday and Friday print editions, the Wednesday AdVantage extended coverage publication, www.panolian.com, and special publications including the Batesville Magazine.
Medley’s background includes serving a two-year stint as general manager of the Aberdeen Examiner and Amory Advertiser weekly newspapers, 12 years as classified advertising manager and seven years as advertising director at The Commercial Dispatch in Columbus and two years with Mississippi broadcasting groups.
