Bennie Ray Brewer

BATESVILLE—Bennie Ray Brewer, 65, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Memorial services were held Sunday at Wells Funeral Home. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Brewer, born May  13, 1944, to Bennie Rosce and Louise Lambert Brewer, had retired from the U.S. Corps of Engineers as a civil engineering technician. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Methodist.

He is survived by his wife: Earlene Brewer of Batesville; two daughters, Callie O. Hardin of Senatobia and Angela D. Brewer of Horn Lake; one son: Michael Edward Brewer of Germany; two sisters: Patsy Brewer Browning of Batesville and Margaret Ann Brewer Young of Cincinnati, Ohio; his mother: Louise Lambert Roach of Sardis; two grandchildren, Blake Moorehead and Tyler Hardin both of Senatobia and one great grandchild.

The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Heart Association.

Julia Mae Trammell

SARDIS—Julia Mae Trammell, 76, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at her residence.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Morris Chapel M.B. Church. Rev. L.H. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held today from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Henderson Funeral Home has charge.

Trammell, born March 5, 1933, to the late Charles Hightower and Odella Lanton Hightower, worked for North Panola School. She was a member of Morris Chapel M.B. Church.

Survivors include: her husband, David Trammell of Sardis. four daughters, Sophia Ward of Grandville, Mo., Daisy Dale and Debra Dowden, both of Memphis and Betty Jean Trammell of Sardis; four sons, Terry Trammell, Jerry Trammell, Perry Trammell and David Lee Trammell, all of Sardis; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
