Batesville Steelers executive director Fred Hentz said fall practice will begin for the three Steelers teams on Wednesday, July 28, at 7 p.m.

The three teams are comprised of 150 players and five coaches, so Hentz said the league will not be taking more players.

Old and new players are to report at the South Panola football field. The practices are being held later in the day due to extreme heat.

Another reason the league cannot take on more players is a lack of dedicated, experienced coaches, Hentz said. He needs volunteer coaches with football experience who can be at practices and games.
