The Lady Tigers fast pitch team (2-0) traveled to Lewisburg to take on the Lady Patriots Tuesday and came home with a 9-3 victory.

The first inning was all the Lady Tigers needed as they scored seven runs and held the Lady Patriots scoreless.

In the bottom of the third, the Lady Patriots scored their first run. The Lady Tigers added two more runs in the top of the fourth for the 9-1 advantage. The Lady Patriots added their last two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

The Lady Tigers got nine hits to the Lady Patriot’s five. Getting two hits each was Meri Morgan Fortune, Haley Walton and Stormy Robison. Kenzi Reed and Jennifer Newcomb hit triples in the game. Getting one hit each was Hillari Plummer, Chelsea Allen and Meredith Roberson. Allen had two sacrifice bunts and Plummer had one.

Shortstop Hillari Plummer scored two runs. Scoring one run each was Allen, Roberson, Robison, Reed, Fortune, Newcomb and Walton.

Robison was on the mound for the Lady Tigers. She had seven strike outs, allowed five hits, three runs, assisted in nine put outs and logged one error.

In the field for the Lady Tigers was first baseman Fortune who had nine put outs. Center fielder Kelsay Hancock had seven. Short stop Plummer had three put outs and two assists. Third baseman Roberson had one put out. Second baseman Allen had three assists.

The Lady Tigers Junior Varsity won 5-1 in five innings.

The Lady Tigers hosted Senatobia last night and will host Horn Lake in non-district action tonight started at 5 with the junior varsity game. Tomorrow, the junior varsity team will travel to Desoto Central for a contest. Monday the Jr. varsity will travel to Senatobia for non-district action.

Tuesday will be a big night on the field as always tough Southaven will be in town for non-conference action starting at 5 p.m. With the junior varsity game. At the same time the baseball team will be on the adjacent field hosting Cleveland.
