A Pope man was killed January 23 in a head-on collision west of Batesville.
Leroy Chapman, 46, was pronounced dead on the scene following the automobile accident, said coroner Gracie Grant-Gulledge.
A highway patrol report shows that Chapman’s automobile was struck when a second vehicle was attempting to pass a third vehicle.
The accident occurred near Chapel Town Road.
Chapman was a Panola County native. He was born in the Eureka community, said his wife, Brinda Chapman.
He was employed as a contractor by Mastec in Batesville.
