The upcoming new year will cause trash pick-up in the city and county to be behind schedule one day, according to Carolyn Mills of the county administrator’s Office.

All county offices will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of New Year’s Day.

The City of Batesville and the City of Sardis will have the same closings.

Sardis will also skip a second day of trash pick-up this week.

“Everyone’s trash service is going to be backed up one day,” Mills said.

The county also handles garbage pick up in the City of Batesville.
