Halloween curfews have been set to encourage Panola County trick-or-treaters to limit their activities to early evening.

The City of Batesville set the curfew tonight for 8 p.m.

Sardis, Crenshaw and Como set a curfew of 9 p.m.

Halloween can trace its origins to an ancient Celtic festival before it was combined with All Saints Day, a religious observance.
