Letter to the editor

Son Hudson ‘One of a Kind,’ lived for Christ, says reader

We lost a pillar of  our community today, September 26, 2008. Son Hudson, Civil Defense Director for Panola County, was killed in a tragic car accident. Mr. Son was, as many of us fondly and respectfully referred to him, truly “one of a kind.”

Our lives were so blessed to have known and to have worked with him.

Three words come to our minds when we recall our time spent with Mr. Son.

SAVED through the grace of God.

DEDICATED to doing the Lord’s work in his personal and business life.

LOYAL to family, friends and co-workers.

He was a kind man who never said an unkind word about anyone, even in personal attacks he experienced in the work place. He held his head high in the face of adversity and met it with dignity. He was truly a gentle-man. Mr. Son was a firm believer in the power of prayer. He began his day and ended his day with it and paused many times in between to ask the Lord for guidance and support.

The greatest tribute that we can bestow on Mr. Son is to strive to live for Christ as he did, love unconditionally and laugh freely from the heart.
