WATER VALLEY–Shirley Reaves McCullar, 80, died Friday, September 12, 2008, at his residence.

Services were Monday at Henry Chapel at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. David Ross officiated. Burial was in Campground Cemetery in Lafayette. Seven Oaks Funeral Home had charge.

McCullar, born Feb. 13, 1928, in Water Valley to the late Riley and Minnie Tubbs McCullar, was a member of Union West Baptist Church and retired from Holley Carburetor.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby McCullar.

Survivors include: his wife of 59 years, Sylvia McCullar of Water Valley; four daughters, JoAnn Vandergriff of Carlsbad, Minn., Gail Fly of Water Valley, Dianne Cadena of Batesville and Patricia Sims of Water Valley; one son, Billy D. McCullar of Courtland and one sister, Arneal Lakey of Water Valley; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
