Thanks to hundreds of dedicated individuals and generous contributors, organizers of the recent “Healthy You” Day in Panola County are reporting a successful event that raised over $3,000 for the American Cancer Society. The 5K Run/Walk was held August 9.
“We have an incredible, loving and giving community in Panola County,” said Brenda Williams, Healthy You’s chair. “On behalf of the more than nine million Americans alive today with a history of cancer, I want to thank everyone who played a role in our success.”
Several awards were given to recognize achievement by participants and teams. They included: first place winner in the 5K run, Brett Childs; 1st place winner in the 5K walk was Blair Childs; and first place winner in the Fun Walk was Myra Bean.
