Dogs remain focused as two-a-days continue

STARKVILLE – Wednesday’s final day of Mississippi State’s scheduled two-a-days consisted of a pair of practices on the dry practice field inside the Palmeiro Center, as the Bulldogs moved away from outdoor practice fields drenched from Tuesday rainfall.

Head coach Sylvester Croom remained please with his team’s concentration and focus.

“All-in-all, it was another good day and we got a lot done,” Croom said. “We had good concentration throughout the day.”

The Bulldogs focused on redzone schemes – both offensive and defensive –during each two-hour practice. The head coach was pleased with the offense’s execution in the morning session, and said that the defense picked up its efforts in the afternoon.

Whatever struggles the defense had in the first practice, Croom singled out one player on that side of the ball for his efforts.

“Kyle Love makes a difference,” Croom said about his starting defensive tackle. Love had missed two days of work after suffering a toe injury. “He definitely is a force inside when he’s back out there.”

With a new-player academic orientation scheduled for Thursday morning and academic preparations day for all athletes set for Friday, Mississippi State will move to afternoon practice sessions for the remainder of camp.
