ND fastpitch off to great start; football scrimmage announced

The North Delta Lady Green Wave fastpitch softball team got off to a great start with a 14-2 win over Calhoun Academy Tuesday afternoon.

Samantha Massoth pitched the complete game in five innings while Vikki Johnson was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3.

The Jr. Varsity team followed with a 15-0 shutout behind the pitching of Grayson Sims, Peyton Rico and Courtney DuBravec.

The Lady Green Wave continues the season by participating in the Bayou Academy Tournament in Cleveland tomorrow.

The Lady Wave will play Pillow Academy at 9 a.m., Marshall at 11:30 a.m. and Lee Academy at 2 p.m. If they score enough runs, they may qualify for a bye and play in the final at 6 p.m. If they are the second or third place team, they will play in the semi-final at 4:30 p.m.

North Delta will travel to Senatobia to take on Magnolia Heights in non-conference action on Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.

Football

The North Delta Green Wave football teams will be announced Tuesday, August 4 at Meet the Wave night at 7 p.m. The team will host a scrimmage Friday, August 8 with Pillow Academy beginning at 3:30 p.m.

North Delta will participate in a jamboree at West Memphis, Ark. Friday, August 15. Season for the Green Wave begins August 22 at home against Strider Academy of Charleston.
