Crystal LeAnn Lang Johnson

CLARKSDALE– Crystal LeAnn Lang Johnson, 32, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at her residence.

Services were Monday at Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Burial was in Memorial Gardens. Rev. Phillip Tidwell officiated. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home had charge.

Lang, born April 1, 1976, to Ann Joslin of Clarksdale and the late James Lang, was a member of Gateway Baptist Church and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors along with her mother include: her husband, Tilmus Johnson of Memphis; one son, Cameron L. Johnson of Memphis; three brothers, Charles Roach of Batesville, Jason Lang of Southaven and Paul Lang of Lyon; one sister, Stephanie Havens of Clarksdale.


Sadie Pearl Steed Johnson

GARLAND, Texas– Sadie Pearl Steed, 73, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at her residence. She was the sister of Frances Welch and Sherry Holloway of Pope.

Services were Thursday at West Marks Baptist Church. Burial was in Marks Cemetery. Rev. Don Stroud and Rev. John Shackelford officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Steed, born Sept. 26, 1934, was a member of West Marks Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Russell Johnson Jr.

Survivors along with her sisters include: six daughters, Betty Ann McGee of Coldwater, Jean Faye Felts of Hattiesburg, Elizabeth Avent of Lambert, Elaine Pipkin of Marks, Lawanda Johnson of Pueblo, Colo. and Nelda Mullins of Garland, Texas; two brothers, Joe Arthur Steed and Douglas Steed of Highlands, Texas; one sister, Christine Crwo of Baytown, Texas; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to West Marks Baptist Church or Melanoma Research.


Eunice Helen Reeves Williams

MARIETTA–Eunice Helen Reeves Williams, 81, mother of Janie Cole of Batesville, died July 8, 2008, at Baldwyn Nursing Facility. She was also the sister of Bonnie Townsend of Batesville.

Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 6, 1927 in Itawamba County to Noah S. and Minnie Montgomery Reeves. She retired from Marietta Manufacturing with 31 years of service. She was a member of Marietta Church of Christ, where services were held July 10 with Ronnie Livingston officiating. Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery. Waters Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John Lee Williams; one other daughter, Judy  Williams of Oxford; two sons, Bill Williams of Marietta and Ralph Williams of Booneville; another sister, Ollie Mae Johnson of Golden; five grandchildren, Ashlee and Clayton Cole of Batesville, Katie and John David Williams of Booneville and Daniel Williams of Marietta.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings Boyce, Ruble, Morris, Cleburn, Bulus, Dillard, Ida Elizabeth Anne, Charlene, Nancy and Mallie Reeves.
