No coolers, no pets but lots of fun planned at July 4th event

An elaborate fireworks display next Friday night will put the exclamation point on a full afternoon of events at Batesville’s Fourth of July celebration.

Events start at 2 p.m. at the Batesville Civic Center with a Nationwide Motorsports Ken/Ten Truck Pull.

Tickets for the event are available at the Civic Center.

Outside the center, vendors will offer food and beverages, monster truck rides, inflatables and a rock climbing wall, beginning at 4 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m. free outdoor concerts will begin. The Electric Rodeo Band, the Billy Grantham Band and Jason Adams and Southern Country are all slated to perform.

The free fireworks display will begin at 10 p.m.

Participants are reminded that no coolers and no pets will be allowed.
