South Panola takes out No. 1 Tupelo

A two-run double by Ethan Bright was the game-winning shot for the South Panola Tigers over the No. 1 nationally ranked Tupelo Golden Waven Thursday night, 6-5.

Shortstop Tyler Benson got on base on a one-out triple. Monroe Harrison hit an infield pop up for second out. Pitcher David Renfroe was intentionally walked for runners on first and third. Then on the first pitch Bright hit the double to the right center field to drive home Benson and Renfroe.

South Panola had a 4-1 lead on a Wesley Gregg 3RBI double in the bottom of the third inning.

Tupelo tied the game at 1 in the top of the second inning.

In top of the seventh, Tupelo took a lead 5-4 on a two-run homer.
