South Panola golf teams see success

The South Panola Invitational Golf Tournament was held March 20  at the Mallard Pointe Golf Course in Sardis.  

There were four boys teams  and two girls teams participating in the match, including Cleveland High School boys, Grenada High School boys, Winona High School boys, South Panola High School boys and girls, and Tupelo High School Girls.

Grenada High School won the boy’s match and Tupelo High School won the girl’s match.

The medalist from the boy’s match was South Panola High School student Grant Goforth. The medalist from the girl’s match was Tupelo High School Student Courtney Donald.  

Members of the South Panola boys team include:  Grant Goforth, Hunter Moore, Daniel Lightsey, Tyler Sturgis, and Corey Johnson.  

Members of the South Panola girls team participating include:  Anna Katherine Baglan, Kristy Burns, and Mary Wilson.

Other members of the girl’s team are Emily Bright, Kayla Champion, Carly Manning, Kristin Olsen, and Abreal Powell.

The boys played a match at Southaven’s Club at North Creek against Southaven and Horn Lake on March 27.  They placed third.

At the girl’s match at Southaven’s Club at North Creek against Hernando on March 27, South Panola girls placed second.

Girls also had a match at Pontotoc Country Club on March 6 against Pontotoc and New Albany and placed second.
