Hazel Moore Chrestman

OAKLAND––Hazel Moore Chrestman, 87, died Sunday, February 24, 2008, at Golden Living Nursing Home in Southaven.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Visitation will be today at noon until service time. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Chrestman was a homemaker and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Virdo Chrestman.

Survivors include: two sons, Larry K. Chrestman of Arab, Ala. and Mike A. Chrestman of Memphis; one sister, Gladys Moore Elliott of Batesville; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lannie James McCarver

BATESVILLE––Lannie James McCarver, 28, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Services were Friday at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel. Ken White officiated. Burial was in the Garden of Memories. Coleman Funeral Home had charge.

He attended First Faith Church.

Survivors include: his parents, Lannie and Pat McCarver of Batesville and one sister, Jennifer McCarver of Batesville.

Stanley and Lisa Mistilis

DECATUR, Ala.––Stanley Blair Mistilis, 45, and Lisa Michelle Lord Mistilis, 46, died Sunday, February 17, 2008, in an automobile accident near Van Buren, Ark.

Services were Friday at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Burial was in Marvin Chapel Cemetery in Attala County.

The couple were members of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Decatur.

Stanley is survived by: his mother, Lewese Ahrens and her husband, John of Mt. Ida, Ark.; his father, Steve Mistilis and wife, Katherine of Memphis; one brother, Steve Mistilis of Horn Lake; one sister, Lisa Mistilis Brooks of Mobile, Ala.

Lisa is survived by: her parents, Verna and Don Lord of Olive Branch; two sisters, Donna Lord of Olive Branch and Diane Samuelsen of Westfield, Mass. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Assembly of God or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Shermika M. Pettis

COMO––Shermika M. Pettis, 24, died Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Baptist Desoto Hospital.

Services are Wednesday at noon at the PGA Building in Sardis. Burial will be in Askew Grove Cemetery in Sarah. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home has charge.

Pettis was a member of New Trinity M.B. Church in Como and was a factory worker.

Survivors include: her parents, Clallie Pettis of Como and Willie Joe Bobo of Sardis; one daughter, Trishanti Pettis of Como; nine sisters, Latasha Pettis, LasaDra Pettis, Brittney Pettis, Princess Pettis, Laquriya Pettis, Whitney Pettis, Shanqunta Pettis, all of Como, Tammy Moss of Memphis and Kinshanta Bobo of Sardis; six brothers, Daryl Pettis, Rashad Pettis, Trodarious Pettis, Jaquvious Pettis, all of Como, Kiwanis Bobo of Sardis and Dylan Byress of Chicago, Ill.; and her grandparents, Palestine Bobo of Sardis and Joe Louis Bobo of Chicago.

Myrle Brand Ward

SARDIS––Myrle Brand Ward, 88, died Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
Services were Monday at Faith Baptist Church. Burial was in Marks Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Ward, born June 28, 1919, in Calhoun City, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Donald Ward and one son, Carl Ward.

Survivors include: one son, Parry Ward of Tocowa; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Mitchell of Southaven; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
