Joe Philey Babb

MARKS – Joe Philey Babb, 75, died Friday, January 18, 2008 at Quitman County Hospital.

Services were held January 20 at Kimbro Funeral Home. Rev. James Tidwell officiated. Burial was at Marks Cemetery.

Babb, born February 8, 1932, in Quitman County, was a retired maintenance superintendent for Bunge, Corp.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marks.

Survivors are sons Ken Babb of Marks and Joey Babb of Madison; sister Mary Frances Mitchell of Marks, and four grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Eloise Abel Babb.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Marks or to First Marks Cemetery Association.

Kimbro Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Timothy Eastwood

SARDIS – Timothy Hunter Eastwood, 46, died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at his home in Sardis.

Eastwood was disabled.

Survivors are sister, Leigh Ann Wagnon of Holly Springs and brother Jeff Eastwood of Victoria.

Wells Funeral Home had charge.


Alex Holcombe

SOUTHAVEN – Alex B. Holcombe, 46, died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital.

Graveside services were held at Crowder Cemetery on January 21.

Holcombe, born August 4, 1961 in Marks to Bobby Dean Sr. and Bessie Juanita Eidson Holcomb, was a construction worker.

Survivors are sister Renee Holcombe Brower of Southaven and brothers Dean Holcombe of Nesbit and Marty Holcombe of Southaven.  

Wells Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
