City Court Report

Man found guilty in city domestic violence case

A Batesville man was found guilty of domestic violence – simple assault during Batesville Municipal Court Wednesday.

Andre Middleton of 2030 Goodhope Rd., Batesville, failed to appear, but the arresting officer appeared and gave his testimony. Judge Bill McKenzie ruled that Middleton was guilty and fined him $355.

Elizabeth Keel of 1405 CR 100, Water Valley, had a case of domestic violence remanded to the files.

Robert Karsten of 134 Oakleigh Dr., Batesville, also had a case of domestic violence remanded to the files.

Failure to appear
Bradley Taylor of 805 Redwine Ave., Kosciusko, failed to appear for a possession of paraphernalia charge.

Julianna Holifield of 805 Redwine Ave., Kosciusko, failed to appear for a shoplifting (two counts) charge. She is charged with taking merchandise from Rue 21 and Factory Brand Shoes. Al Williams Bonding Company will be notified.

Frank Williams of 2190 Sardis Lake Dr., Batesville, failed to appear for a DUI charge and a failure to use signal charge.

Contempt of court
Kenric Hughes of 102 Gracie Cove, Batesville, is to satisfy old fines of $1,318 by performing 33 days on the city work program beginning October 3. Participation in the work program is an option for defendants who cannot pay their fines.

Grand jury referrals
Courtney Hughes of 113 Browning St., Batesville, had his charges of aggravated assault, discharging a firearm in city limits and possession of a firearm by convicted felon, referred to the grand jury.

Renard Cole of 136 Hoskins Rd., Batesville, had a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance referred to the grand jury. He was also sentenced to 90 days in jail for contempt of court –  – failing to show up for the work program.

Cases continued
Terry Potts of 900 Pang St., Marks, appeared before the judge for charges of burglary of a commercial building – grand larceny. The case was continued.

Judge McKenzie also continued the case of Erik Perez of 374 Hunter Crew Rd., Charleston, charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and driving while license suspended.

Richard Carr of 4621 Eureka Rd., Batesville, entered a "not guilty" plea to stalking. A trial date was set.

Darrell Chambers of 1169 Heafner Rd., Batesville, entered a "not guilty" plea to taking seven DVDs worth $139.33 from Shell. The case was continued.
Dismissed

Robert Wilbanks of 4069 Hwy. 35 South, Batesville, contested a speeding ticket. The ticket was dismissed because the officer who wrote the ticket no longer works with the police department and moved out of state.

Stanley McKinney of 14199 Ballentine Rd., Sardis, had a "no proof" charge dismissed after providing proof of insurance.

Nathan Jammie Franklin, 10464 Eureka Rd., Courtland, was arrested and charged with petit larceny. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Eric Sean Heafner, 230 Morrow Rd., Courtland, was arrested and charged with petit larceny. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Kelvin Lamont Wadley, 173 CR 105, Oxford, was arrested and charged with contempt – failure to appear. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Marcus Jerrell Armstrong, 230 Johnson Cove, Como, was arrested and charged with petit larceny, resisting arrest, indecent exposure and no driver’s license. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Daniel Lee Smith, 791 Enid Dam Rd., Pope, was arrested and charged with DUI, speeding and no insurance. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

August 2
Akil Irish, 827 Hwy. 51 South, Batesville, was arrested and charged with simple assault. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Antonio Crump, 120 Williams St., Batesville, was arrested and charged with simple assault, no proof of insurance and failing to yield to blue lights. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Carl B. Young, 215 West St., Batesville, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to comply and resisting arrest. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Kenya L. Birks, 109 Luster St., Apt. B-1, Batesville, was arrested and charged with simple assault. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Rheed Cornelius, Hwy. 51 St. (BJCC) Batesville, was arrested and charged with simple assault. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Richard E. Tippery, 96 B Tucker Trailer Park, Ivy Gordon Dr., Batesville, was arrested and charged with burglary. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Mary Ann Warren, 5657 Redford Ave., Memphis, Tenn., was arrested and charged with DUI (other), careless driving, speeding and simple possesion of marijuana. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Alex Crosswhite, 413 Willa St., Batesville, is being held for investigation. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Patricia A. Gale, 201 Atkins St., Sardis, was arrested and charged with contempt of court. The case will be heard in Sardis Municipal Court.

Noel Curtis Holly, 19 CR 172, Oxford, was arrested and charged with public drunk. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

June Nanette Massey, 3297 Country Club Rd., Senatobia, was arrested and charged with DUI and careless driving. The case will be heard in Sardis Municipal Court.

Stephen J. Micheletti, 1188 Stephens St., Water Valley, was arrested and charged with DUI and reckless driving. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

August 3
Dennis T. Ballard, 1050 Mile Lake Rd., Sledge, was arrested and charged with disturbance of family. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Aron Ivy, P.O. Box 124, Oxford, was arrested and charged with failure to obey the tint ordinance and driving while license suspended. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Jimmy L. Durant, 2577 N. 28 St., Milwaukee, Wis., was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than an ounce. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Quincy C. Hibbler, 309 W. Lee St., Sardis, was arrested and charged with DUI (second), driving while license suspended and no seat belt. The case will be heard in Sardis Municipal Court.

Michael C. Wiggs, 1245 Putman Rd., Lambert, was arrested and charged with careless driving and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Emma A. Hughey, 309 Atkins St., Sardis, is being held for evaluation.

Rodney O. Ladd, 1105 B. Hawkins Rd., Courtland, was arrested and charged with shoplifting. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

August 4
Anthony J. Henderson, 818 Bethlehem Rd., Batesville, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Marcus D. Phillips, 403 Warren St., Como, was arrested and charged with violation of early release supervision. The case will be heard in Circuit Court.

Cedric J. Curry, 2512 James Davis Rd., Sledge, was arrested and charged with violation of early release supervision. The case will be heard in Circuit Court.

Regina Middleton, 150 Old State Coach Rd., Batesville, was arrested and charged with violation of probation. The case will be heard in Circuit Court.

Torey M. Joiner, 1316 Eason Rd., Marks, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and no seat belt. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Benjamin Murphey, 229.5 Pollard St., Batesville, was arrested and charged with no driver’s license. The case will be heard in Justice Court.
 
Heather R. Davis, 20 Hickory Hill, Batesville, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and no tag. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

August 5
Derrick L. Roberson, 1044 Alonzo Gibson Rd., Sardis, was arrested and charged with domestic violence. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Ruby L. Willingham, 329 Alonzo Gibson Rd., Sardis, was arrested and charged with domestic violence. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Terry L. Presley, 310 Juanita St., Sardis, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and DUI. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Michael Jones, 388 Connie Ross Rd., Como, was arrested and charged with expired inspection sticker and DUI. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Billy Tutor, 2180 B Cold Springs Rd., Batesville, is being held for investigation. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Tawone L. Killebrew, 2038 Leenard St., Batesville, was arrested and charged with grand larceny. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

James L. Henderson, 5335 Chapel Town Rd., Batesville, was arrested and charged with DUI, no driver’s license and expired inspection sticker. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Daniel Christopher Tindell, 161 B. Henry Heafner Rd., Sardis, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and no proof of insurance. The case will be heard in Pope Municipal Court.

August 6
Marcus Lee Duckworth, 1286 Hwy. 29 North, Ellisville, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Mario L. Jones, 159 West Lamde, Holly Springs, was arrested and charged with no proof of insurance and driving while license suspended. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Bridget M. Ray, 243 Henry Heafner Rd., Sardis, was arrested and charged with contempt and simple assault. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Rodney Jerroid Wilson, 2706 Chapel Town Rd., Batesville, was arrested and charged with contempt. The case will be heard in Batesville Municipal Court.

Donald Ray Paulk, 10327 Maple Brook Lane, Olive Branch, was arrested and charged with DUI and speeding. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Elie Carter, 2338 A Hwy. 315 North, Sardis, was arrested and charged with no driver’s license and reckless driving. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Murry R. Wilson, 2994 Cold Springs Rd., Batesville, was arrested and charged with DUI. The case will be heard in Sardis Municipal Court.

Sheri E. Allgood, 219 Scoggins Rd., Pope, was arrested and charged with public drunk. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Larry Wayne Howard, Hwy. 51 North, Batesville, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Judith H. Howard, 17476 Hwy. 51 North, Batesville, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Guary Lee Hunt, 1206 Dees Rd., Batesville, was arrested and charged with DUI (second). The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Terry Towns, 3965 Woodruff Rd., Batesville, was arrested and charged with expired tag and possession of marijuana less than an ounce. The case will be heard in Justice Court.
