UPCHURCH, Bettie Jean
     BATESVILLE – Funeral services for Mrs. Bettie Jean Upchurch are being held today, Friday, September 23 at First United Methodist Church in Batesville.
     Interment will be held at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville. Reverend Russell Fletcher and Rev. Martin Case will be officiating ministers. Wells Funeral home has charge.
     Mrs. Upchurch, 59, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005, from injuries due to an automobile accident.
     Mrs. Upchurch was born on April 12, 1946, to Cecil and Ethel Roncali Bouler in Boyle.
     Survivors include her husband, Charles Edward Upchurch of Batesville; one daughter, Renee Ratcliffe Lawrence of Batesville; one son, Jerry W. Ratcliffe of Oakland; one step-daughter, Stephanie Elizabeth Walker of Cleveland; and one step-son, Charles David Upchurch of Brandon.
     She is also survived by one sister, Mary Ann Tribble of Boyle; two brothers, Cecil "Jabo" Bouler of Boyle and Paul Bouler of Vicksburg; and seven grandchildren: Matthew Austin Upchurch and Daniel Edward Upchurch of Brandon, Kori Leigh Ratcliffe of Courtland, Richard Hunter Lawrence and Bailey McKay Lawrence of Batesville and Austin Allen Ratcliffe and Caleb Zachary Rafcliffe of Bartlett, Tenn.
     The family asks that memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church in Batesville.


VANCE, Louise McCaslin
     BATESVILLE – Louise McCaslin Vance, 85, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center of heart failure.
     Services were Sunday at Batesville Presbyterian Church. Dr. Jon Burnham officiated. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
     Vance, born Sept. 15, 1919, in Grenada, to the late Alston Jones and the late Maude Windham McCaslin, was a homemaker and a member of Batesville Presbyterian Church.
     She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Brooks Vance III.
     Survivors include two sons, David Alston Vance of Batesville and Frank Hudson Vance; one brother, Henry McCaslin of Rosedale and four grandchildren.
     Memorials may be made to Batesville Presbyterian Church’s Piano Fund.

VANCE, Mae Julia
     BATESVILLE – Mae Julia Vance, 87, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
     Services are today at 11 a.m. at West Camp M.B. Church in Batesville. Rev. Zannie Leland Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in West Camp Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
     Vance, born July 28 1917, in Batesville, to the late Eugene Vance and the late Emma Matthew, was a seamstress and a member of West Camp M.B. Church.
     Survivors include two daughters, Ora Jean Moorer of Detroit, Mich. and Mary Jane Yates of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a niece who cared for her Annie Margarette Reed of Batesville; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.


VICK, Mary Lou Neil
    
BATESVILLE – Mary Lou Neil Vick, 96, died Saturday, November 26, 2005, at Fairfield of Batesville.
     Services were yesterday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
     Vick, born April 20, 1909, to the late William Graham and the late Sara Addie Tidwell Vick, was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.
     Survivors include one sister, Evelyn Vick of Batesville.
     Memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.


VILLELLA, Michelle Dawn
    
COURTLAND – Michelle Dawn Villella, 29, died Friday, October 28, 2005, in Batesville from injuries received in an automobile accident.
     Services were yesterday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Ga. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
     Villella, born February 26, 1976, in New Orleans, La., to Joseph George Villella Sr. and Beverly Ann Hood Hamm, was a nursing student at Holmes Community College and a Baptist.
     Survivors include her fiancŽ, Joe Griffin of Courtland; one son, Brennan Griffin of Courtland; her mother, Beverly Ann Hood Hamm of Fitzgerald, Ga.; two brothers, Joseph George Villella Jr. of New Orleans, La. and Stanely Bychurch III of Fitzgerald, Ga. and her maternal grandmother, Carol Nemeth of Fitzgerald, Ga.
