MALDONADO, Harry
BATESVILLE — Harry Maldonado, 46, died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at his residence.
Services were Sunday, April 17, 2005, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo. Rev. Maxwell Lewis and Rev. Jerry Martin officiated. Burial was in Dexter Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home had charge.
Maldonado, born March 25, 1959, born to Crescencia Ortiz Maldonado of Dexter, Mo. and the late Manfredo Maldonado, was a Catholic and a heavy equipment operator for W.W. Contractors in Sardis.
Along with his father, Manfredo Maldonado, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Longino Ortiz and Genoveva R. Ortiz.
Survivors, along with his mother Crescencia Ortiz Maldonado of Dexter, Mo., include one daughter Dana Smith of Lexington, Mo.; one brother Henry Maldonado of Dudley, Mo.; and two sisters, Hilda Bradshaw of Bernie, Mo. and Hilma M. Reyes of Dexter, Mo.
MANGRUM, Castella
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Castella Mangrum, 72, formerly of Como, died Saturday, October 1, 2005, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis.
Services are tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Independence M.B. Church in Tyro. Burial will be in Independence M.B. Church Cemetery. Pate-Jones Funeral Home has charge.
Mangrum was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Travis Mangrum and Sam Eugene Mangrum; two sisters, Lela Walton and Willie Mae Hill and one brother, W.T. Mangrum.
Survivors include five daughters, Mary Campbell of Cleveland, Doris Roby of Memphis, Tenn., Jackie Jones of Como, Sandra Mangrum of Detroit, Mich. and Rose Mangrum of Memphis, Tenn.; five sons, Lee Mangrum, William Mangrum, Calvin Mangrum, Larry Mangrum and Lamar Mangrum, all of Memphis, Tenn.; four sisters, Susanna Johnson and Martha Wilburn, both of Memphis, Tenn., Robenna Abram of Como and Magnolia Minor of Detroit, Mich.; 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

COMO – Thomas W. Mangrum, 41, died Thursday, June 23, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Services were Saturday at Askew Grove M.B. Church. Burial was in Askew Grove Cemetery in Sarah. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.
Mangrum was employed with the Panola County Road Department and a member of Askew Grove M.B. Church.

MANNING, Lee Allen Sr.
BATESVILLE – Lee Allen Manning Sr., 62, died Monday, September 12, 2005, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Manning, born Jan. 30, 1943, in Tillatoba to the late James and Florence Jackson Manning, was a mechanic and a member of the Church of Christ.

POPE – John Henry Manues, 64, died Friday, July 29, 2005, at his residence.

Manues, born March 15, 1941, in Tunica to the late Joe and Vita Bell Ellis Manues, was retired from the U.S. Army with 23 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Williams Manues of Pope; two daughters, Sabrina Manues Frank of Atoka, Tenn. and Sonja Manues Pennington of Summitt; one son, Jeno Manues of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Shirley Manues Rodas of Southaven and Betty Faye Manues of Batesville; one brother, Joe Manues Jr. of Meridian and three grandchildren.
MARKET, Mozella
SARDIS – Mozella Market, 78, died Saturday, November 12, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.
Services were yesterday at New Bethlehem M.B. Church in Batesville. Rev. W.L. Nash officiated. Burial was in New Bethlehem Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary had charge.
Market, born Oct. 24, 1927, to the late J.C. Vaughn and the late Everlena Fox, was a homemaker and a member of New Bethlehem M.B. Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Market of Sardis; four sisters, Dorothy Market, Susie Connor, Julean Morgan, all of Batesville and Florence Lewis of Sardis and one grandchild.
MARRETT, Sara Frances
SARDIS – Sara Frances Gammon Bishop Gammon Marett, 96, died Wednesday morning, September 14, 2005, at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia.
Born September 19, 1908, in Panola County in a log cabin west of Sardis in the Davis Chapel Community, she was the daughter of Thomas Felix Gammon and Fannie Dickens "Frank" Wilbourn Irby Gammon. She was a graduate of Grenada Teachers College in Grenada following graduation from Sardis High School.
A devoted teacher in the public school system in Panola County for 39 years, she taught in Pleasant Grove and Sardis, principally as an English teacher, and was known as "Miss Frances" by most. In 1999, she was honored by the Panola Partnership with the James Hal Moore Excellence in Education Award for 39 years of teaching and the continuing effort that she made for the community, "in appreciation of her outstanding and unsurpassed commitment to the children of Panola County who will benefit from her efforts for years in the future."
She was preceded in death by former husband Robert Allen Bishop and later married Willard Earl Gammon. After the death of Gammon, she married Fred Herschel Marett Sr.
They lived in an antebellum home in Sardis, restored in 1960 by her and her first husband, and shared with many for receptions, weddings and other events.
After the death of Marett, she continued to live there until 2002 when she moved to the Sardis Community Nursing Home. "Miss Frances" was an active member of the Sardis United Methodist Church, serving on the administrative council and in the WSCS.
She also was a member of the Heflin House Association and was active in the Sardis Woman’s Club, the Panola Playhouse and many clean-up and beautification projects in the City of Sardis.
Survivors include a son, David Nolan Bishop of Destrehan, La., and his wife Lois; a daughter, Sara Ann Bishop Dennison of Lake Charles, La., and her husband Jim Dennison; step-children Fred Herschel Marett Jr. of San Francisco, Ca., Lawrence Edwards "Larry" Marett of Amory and his wife Judy, Esther Florence Marett Still of Kent, Wash. and her husband David Still, and Sara Ruth Marett Bailey of Lambert and her husband Van Bailey; six grandchildren: Julie Frances Bishop Malouse and Anne Marie Bishop Bryan of New Orleans, La.; James Oscar "Jimbo" Moss III, of Pollock, La.; Mark Hardin Moss of Houston, Texas; Allen Wilbourn Moss of Ferriday, La.; and John Andrew Moss of San Francisco, Ca.; nine great-grandchildren and three nieces.
She out-lived 15 half brothers and sisters, Gammons and Irbys. She also leaves a host of friends.
Visitation was Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. in Sardis at Moore Funeral Home, who was in charge of funeral arrangements. The funeral service was at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Sardis United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jim Cox and Rev. Doyce Gunter officiating. Burial was in Sardis Rose Hill Cemetery.

MASSEY, Trobia McKnight
OAKLAND – Trobia McKnight Massey, 93, died Sunday, June 19, 2005, at Grenada Lake Medical Center.
Services were Wednesday at Womble Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Womble Funeral Home had charge.
Massey, born Feb. 2, 1912, was a homemaker and a member of Oakland Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde G. Massey.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Townsend of Grenada and Clyde Callihan of Oakland; one son, William Massey of Oakland; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
MATHEWS, James Howard
OXFORD – James Howard Mathews, 88, died Sunday, July 3, 2005, at the Veterans Affairs Home in Oxford.
Services were Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Sardis. Rev. Jim Scruggs officiated. Burial was in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home had charge.
Mathews, born Sept. 26, 1916, in Jefferson County, Ark. to the late Jess Benjamin and Ella Colfax Mathews, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff, Ark. He was a veteran of WWII as a sergeant in the Air Force and was retired from the automotive industry.
Survivors include one sister, Jean Mathews Ellis of Collierville, Tenn.; a number of nieces and nephews and his caregiver, Kathleen Arnold of Sardis.
MATTOX, Eula K.
SARDIS – Eula K. Mattox, 78, died Monday, November 7, 2005, at her residence in Sardis.
A native of Alcorn County, Mrs. Mattox had been a resident of Sardis since 1957. She was retired from the North Panola School District and was a member of the Sardis First Baptist Church. She was a former member of the Sardis Women’s Club and the Red One Rook Club.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sardis First Baptist Church with interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation is today from 5 – 7 p.m. at the church.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Herman G. Mattox; one daughter, Genell Clayton of Sardis; three sons, Jerry L. Mattox of Dennison, Texas, David L. Mattox of Sardis and Ray Mattox of Greenwood; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

SOUTHAVEN- Raymond L. Mayo, 62, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at Baptist Hospital in Southaven of heart failure. Mayo was formerly of Batesville.

Mayo, born March 12, 1942, in Blytheville, Ark. to the late Andrew Lee and Virginia Wadley Mayo, was a truck driver for AAA Cooper Transportation of Memphis. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Olive Branch and he also served in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his wife Margaret Bell Mayo of Southaven; one daughter Sheila Rhea Mayo Sherman of West Monroe, La.; two sons, Raymond Todd Mayo of Hernando and James Andrew Mayo of Olive Branch; one sister Becky Mayo Wade of Columbia, Mo.; one brother Gary Mayo of Collierville, Tenn. and four grandchildren.

OXFORD – Herman McCain Jr., 63, died Friday, October 21, 2005, at his residence in Oxford.

McCain was a self-employed bulldozer operator and a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.

McCOWN, Brenda Arnold
SARDIS – Brenda Arnold McCown, 58, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

McCown, born Dec. 21, 1946, in Sardis, to the late W.M. Arnold and Hazel Goforth Arnold, was a day care teacher for the First United Methodist Church in Batesville and a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Tim B. McCown of Sallis and Shane McCown of Kosciusko; her mother, Hazel Goforth Arnold of Sardis; one sister, Sarah Arnold Thomas of Hernando; two brothers, Clif Arnold of Charleston and William Melvin ?Bill? Arnold of Little Rock, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
McCOWN, Louise Ferrell
BRANDON–Louise Ferrell McCown, 94, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Rankin Medical Center in Brandon. She married Carl Arthur McCown in Panola County.
Services were Saturday at Dickins Chapel. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
McCown, born Oct. 23, 1910, to the late Ethel Bates and Theresa Blanche Towles Ferrell, was very active in the First Baptist Church and for many years lived on Panola Avenue which now belongs to the First United Methodist Church. Her father was a barber and she helped him operate a cleaners and barber shop in Batesville. In 1945 they sold the barber shop to Edwin Massey and the cleaners to Velma McCater and moved to the farm "Cedar Hill," which they purchased from J.S. Woods, on Hwy. 35 between Batesville and Sardis. The Panola County Airport is now located on part of the land.
Survivors include two sons, Gilbert McCown of Brandon and Billy McCown of Kosciusko and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

CRENSHAW – Franklin McCoy, 70, died Sunday, July 10, 2005, at Baptist Hospital -Desoto.
Services were Saturday at Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Sledge. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery in Crenshaw. Delta Burial Corporation had charge.
McCoy, born Dec. 16, 1934, was a retired engineer.

McCurdy, born Jan. 1, 1927, in Earlington, Ky. to the late Iley R. and Beatrice Delany Sharp, was a member of Pope Baptist Church and a retired LPN.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank W. McCurdy Jr.

McGregory, born Oct. 10, 1914, in Chickasaw County to the late Marshal and Artie Gray Smith, was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Alvis McGregory Sr.

McDonald, born in St. Louis, Mo., to the late Harry Joseph and the late Mary Elizabeth Lammers Penz, was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband Richard William McDonald of Batesville; three daughters, Susan McDonald Stein of St. Louis, Mo., Sally Ann McDonald Wilkie of Sardis and Mary Beth McDonald of Senatobia; two sons, Robert Cullen McDonald of St. Louis, Mo. and Daniel James McDonald of Alexandria, La.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
McGLOWN, Alice
OXFORD- Alice McGlown, 95, former Batesville School teacher, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at her residence in Oxford.
Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Burns United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Buford Chapel Cemetery. Hodges Funeral Home has charge.
McGlown was a retired school teacher, taught school at Arkansas Public Schools, Batesville Public School and Oxford Junior High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert McGlown.
Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn Pettis of Memphis and Lillian Russ of Little Rock, Ark.; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
McKITTRICK, Harry Owen
Sherman Oaks, Calif. – Harry Owen McKittrick, 53, formerly of Batesville, died Saturday, September 10, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank, Calif.
Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Batesville. Dr. David Ball and Michael Evans will officiate.
Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation is today from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
McKittrick, born Oct. 18, 1951, to Glenn McKittrick and the late Violet Edwards McKittrick in Covington, Ky., was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was self-employed as a professional musician, playing the trombone and baritone saxophone. He was also a musical instrument repairman, maintaining instruments for some of the West Coast’s top musicians. He also served several of the large schools in California. Mr. McKittrick could not find a left-handed trombone, so he built his own.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vi McKittrick.
Survivors include his wife, Melinda Travis McKittrick of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; one daughter, Kiersten McKittrick of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; two sons, Attius McKittrick and Zachary McKittrick, both of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; one sister, Amanda McKittrick Neal of Jackson and two brothers, Danny Ray McKittrick of Cumberland and Pat McKittrick of Batesville and his father, Glenn McKittrick of Batesville.
MEACHAM, Milton A.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Milton A. Meacham, 83, died Thursday, December 15, 2005. He was a brother of Dr. Marshall P. Meacham of Batesville.
Graveside services were Saturday, December 17 at Highland Memorial in Knoxville, Tenn. Highland Memorial Park Funeral Home had charge.
Meacham was a 1948 graduate of The University of Tennessee, he was employed by White Hall Pharmaceuticals, Fairchild Aircraft, and retired after 31 years at Oak Ridge National Labs. He was also a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps.

Meek, born Feb. 19, 1935, to the late Lester C. and Mary Ileen Davis Meek, was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Milam, born March 14, 1935, in Louisville, to the late Milton McCulley Bouchillon and the late Clara Lee Dempsey Bouchillon, was a homemaker, member of Curtis Union Church and a member of Batesville Woman?s Club. She was in the Explorer?s Bible study group, an active participant in the Reach to Recovery Unit, a member of Curtis Quilters, president of Curtis Homemaker Club, song leader of Curtis Union Church and treasurer of the Curtis Union Church. Her skills as a seamstress carried her to win the 1952 state and national 4-H clothing contest.

MILAM, Rev. Fonzo
BATESVILLE – Funeral services for Rev. Fonzo (June Coleman) Milam were held Saturday, September 17 at New Bethel M.B. Church.
Rev. Milam died Wednesday, September 14, 2005, at his home.
He was born July 17, 1934, in Quitman County to Georgia Ann Lee and Fonzo Milam Sr. He joined the Mt. Olive M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Walter L. Nash where he accepted a call to the ministry in 1980.
His first appointment was in 1981 to New Enon M.B. Church where he served 24 years. He was later appointed to Rock Hill M.B. Church in Oxford and later to New Bethel M.B. Church in Darling. He served all three churches until his death.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy Milam of Batesville; 12 daughters, Pastor Nancy Toliver of Olive Branch, Sterlyn Howell of Nesbit, Sandra Milam of Memphis, Tenn., Shirley Harrell of Crowder, Dorothy Roberson, Carolyn Cole, Ethyl Austin, Annie Key, Loretta Chapman, Neshell Sanford, Sabrina Young and Tonya Lamar, all of Batesville; and eight sons, Willie Ed Williams of Clarksdale, James Milam of Milwaukee, Wis., Roy Charles Williams, Fonzo Milam, Drexso Brassell, Lewayne Brassell and Reginald Milam, all of Batesville.
He is also survived by 65 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Milam was preceded in death by two wives, Marie Barber and Mary Louise Brassell, a sister and brother.

Mills, born May 22, 1940, in Panola County to the late Lawrence Linder and the late Velma McMinn Mills was one of 17 children, a bricklayer and a member of the Church of Christ.

BATESVILLE- Felix Webster Mills, 88, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at his residence in Orwood.
Services are tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford with graveside services at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Doug Pepper will officiate. Visitation will be tomorrow from noon until 2 p.m. Waller Funeral Home has charge.
Mills was born to the late Felix and Lela Mills. Except for a brief period when he was employed with the U.S. Department of Agricultural in Chickasaw County, Mr. Mills lived all of his life on his farm in the community of Orwood. During his life, he was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and was a nationally recognized trainer of pointer bird dogs. He was named Cattleman of the Year in 1982 by the Lafayette County Cattleman’s Association.
Mr. Mills began work with the federal government as a young boy in the late 1930’s with the old Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). During his later career with the U.S. Forest Service, Yazoo-Little Tallahatchie Watershed, he was recognized for timber/forest management. He was instrumental in the establishment of over 100 million pine trees in Lafayette County for watershed protection.
He served three and one-half years in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in the North Pacific Battle of Attu in the Aleutian islands. Mr. Mills graduated from Taylor High School and attended Mississippi State University. He was a member of the historic Sand Springs Presbyterian Church and Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marion Ruth Helms Mills of Batesville; one daughter, Marilyn Beach of Jackson; three sons, David Webster Mills, John Michael Mills and William T. Mills, all of Batesville; one sister, Kay Weeks of Water Valley; one brother, Heron Don Mills of Germantown, Tenn.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.

MILLS, Marion Ruth Helms
BATESVILLE– Marion Ruth Helms Mills, wife, mother and homemaker, died of complications from a stroke on March 12, 2005, at the Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville. Born in Lee County on May 23, 1918, she was 86. The visitation is noon until 2 p.m. today at Waller Funeral Home in Oxford. The funeral service follows at 2 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home with graveside services at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church Cemetery on Highway 315 in Panola County.
Mrs. Mills was an extraordinary mother who devoted her life to her children and her husband. Her bountiful and unconditional love for her children was reflected in her often-voiced signature motto, "I love all my children the same." She read her Bible daily and had tremendous faith in God. Her talents and skills were varied and numerous. She particularly loved needlework, and during her lifetime, sewed, crocheted and embroidered a mountain of items that were fashioned by her own creativity.
She was a fabulous cook of southern foods that often found their way in great abundance from her garden to the table. Mrs. Mills had a gentle spirit that was evident to everyone who came in contact with her. She also had remarkable strength and a rare "pioneer woman" approach to work, life and adversity. She was a member of Orwood Presbyterian Church and Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church.
Preceding Mrs. Mills in death was her husband of 64 years, Felix Webster Mills, who died on Jan. 17, 2005; parents, Ila Priddy and Joseph Roman Helms of Ballardsville; sister Margie Helms Sizemore (Roy deceased) of Shelbyville; and brother Cecil Helms (Virginia deceased) of Tupelo. Mrs. Mills is survived by a sister, Lena Helms Moore (Jim deceased) of Ballardsville.
Survivors include four children, Marilyn Mills Beach of Jackson, David Webster Mills (Marie) of Batesville, William T. Mills and John Michael Mills (Judy), both of Orwood and Stephen L. "Buffy" Beach of Jackson; grandchildren, Addy Marie Mills Berryhill of Okinawa, Japan; Allison Mills Beach of New York, N.Y.; and Felix Mills (Michele) of Orwood; one great-grandchild, Hayden Daniel Mills, and many nieces and nephews.

Moore, born May 2, 1936, in Vance, was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church and after 22 years of dedicated services, retired from U.S. Steel in 1982.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and his wife Glennett Cauthen-Moore.

Moore, born March 25, 1914, in Ethel, was a member of Lambert United Methodist Church and served on the Quitman County Board of Supervisors for 28 years. He was a member of the nominating committee for the Mississippi State Board of Supervisors for 10 years, was a member and past president of the Lambert Lions Club and a member of Marks Masonic Lodge #216. He was a member of the Delta Council, a member of North Delta Planning and Development District Board of Directors, served on the Board of Directors at Citizen’s Bank and Trust for 18 years and served on the Quitman County Hospital Board. He was a member of the Marks Rotary Club and was named Quitman County Man of the Year in 1976 and named a Rotary International’s Paul Harris Fellow in 2004.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Madge Youngblood Moore.

Survivors include five daughters, Paula Morton Lutts of Batesville, Edna Shaffer of Dodge City, Kan., Nancy Tidwell and Vivian Carter, both of Memphis, Tenn. and Patricia Davis of Bakersfield, Calif.; three sons, Kenneth Lee White of Houston, Texas, Marvin Morton of Batesville and Robert Darrell Morton of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Sammy Louise Crist of Jonesboro, Ark. and Rebecca Bilderain of Lamar; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
MOSELEY, Lorentz Dejuan
BATESVILLE – Lorentz Dejuan Moseley, 41, died Sunday, November 13, 2005.
Services were yesterday at St. John M.B. Church in Sardis. Eddie Robinson and Son Funeral Home had charge.
Moseley was employed at Custom Signs.
He was preceded in death by his father George Moseley.
Survivors include one son Kelcie Vaughn of Memphis; his mother and step – father, Curtis and Shirley Bledsoe of Sardis and one brother, Darrell Anthony Moseley of Memphis.
MURPHREE, Walter Gundolphus
BATESVILLE – Walter Gundolphus Murphree, 77, died Friday, May 13, 2005, at his residence.
Services were Monday at Dickins Chapel. Robert Rawson and Greg Johnston officiated. Burial was in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Murphree, born June 12, 1927, in Pope to the late Walter Preston Murphree and the late Pearl Jones Murphree, was a retired U.S. Airforce master sergeant serving his country for 22 years, served as operational sergeant of NATO forces in Europe, police chief for the City of Batesville for 10 years and a member of First Baptist Church. He was superintendent of the Batesville Water Department and project inspector for McBride Engineering. He was also the step-son of the late Jenny Sue Murphree.
Survivors include his wife Radia Grace White Murphree of Batesville; one son Gregory K. Murphree of Tupelo; one daughter Nita Murphree McGreger of Vardaman; one brother James D. Murphree of Centennial, Colo.; three sisters, Vivian "Sis" Bridges of Batesville, Charlie Ann Barton of Charleston and Mary Louise Watts of Pope and five grandchildren, Nicole McGreger Thomas, April Denise McGreger, Bradley Preston McGreger, Gregory Brooks Murphree and Thomas Reeder Murphree.
