South Panola tailback Marcus Griffin did what he does best and carries the ball as the Tigers hit the practice field for practice Monday.
    

North Panola players Jarrell Lantern (l) and Jeremy Kimp were pulling tires this week for conditioning work. The Cougars will begin fall practice Monday, Aug. 11, a week later than other schools because they do not have a game until Sept. 6. The Cougars and the South Panola Tigers will meet for the first time in 14 years Sept. 6.
    

 
   
Coach of the Year
    

    
North Delta golf head coach Mickey Aldridge (third from l) was named the MPSA AA coach of the year in golf. Aldridge coached the team to the AA state championship title. Youth Soccer League Signup Set

Registration for the City of Batesville Youth Soccer League will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, between 5 and 6 p.m. at Trussell Park.

The league is open to boys and girls ages 5 through 14. Cost is $10 per child.

The league is also in need of adult coaches, according to McMinn.
         


SP Diamond Club Forms
    
The South Panola Diamond Club, booster club for South Panola baseball, will hold a meeting Monday, Aug. 18, at the Tallahatchie Valley Electric Power Association auditorium at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
