Moore, Still Attend Florida Cheer Camp
    
Bonnie Beth Moore (l) and Katelyn Still, both of Batesville, attended the Universal Cheerleading Association’s Panama City Beach cheer camp recently. The two are members of Batesville Cheer Magic.
    
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Bonnie Beth Moore and Katelyn Still, both of Batesville Cheer Magic, had a rewarding week at Universal Cheerleading Association’s Panama City Beach Cheer Camp held June 29 through July 3.

The duo won first place in the pom-pom routine at Miracle Strip Amusement Park.

They were named "Camp Champs" in the cheer division and in the extreme dance routine division. They received a spirit stick for the week.

Moore was selected as a UCA All-Star Cheerleader and is eligible to perform in Walt Disney World’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
 


UM Football Season Ticket Sales on Pace
Individual Game Tickets on Sale to Public
    
OXFORD, Miss. – Kickoff for the Ole Miss football season is a little under two months away, and season ticket sales for the 2003 campaign are on a similar pace as 2002, Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Operations Sans Russell announced Thursday.

Ole Miss sold over 45,000 season tickets in 2002.

"We are still working on season ticket orders, and our numbers are similar to those of last year," said Russell. "We are also selling individual tickets to the general public for all seven home games, including the Alabama and LSU games."

The Rebels host seven contests at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium/Hollingsworth Field this fall. Southeastern Conference foes visiting Oxford are Alabama on Oct. 18, Arkansas on Oct. 25, South Carolina on Nov. 1 and LSU on Nov. 22. The Rebels’ non-league games are Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 13, Texas Tech on Sept. 27 and Arkansas State on Oct. 11.

SP Cheerleaders Host a Golf Tournament
    
Placing first in the golf tournament sponsored by the South Panola cheerleaders include (l to r) Jessica Kelsay, Brooke Sibley, Cassie Corley, Joseph Everett, Jon Oakley, Ashlie Mason, Stan Sherwood, Timothy Cain, Constance Collins and Amber Garner.
    
The second place team in the golf tournament sponsored by the South Panola Cheerleaders include (l to r) Kristin Geeslin, Ashlie Mason, Paul Johnson, Meghan Mason, Jay Johnson, Alexx Neal and Brittney Warren.
    
South Panola High School cheerleaders recently sponsored a golf tournament at Mallard Pointe Golf Course. Proceeds from the tournament will go to help cover expenses for the squad to attend the United Cheerleading Association’s National Championships in Orlando, Florida in February, 2004.

The squad, which is currently ranked 10th in the nation, will be making its second appearance at nationals. The squad and their coaches would like to thank all of the area businesses that helped with this tournament by sponsoring a hole on the course. They would also like to thank all of the teams that competed in the tournament.

Winning first place in the tournament was the team of Stan Sherwood, Timothy Cain, Jon Oakley, and Joseph Everett. Winning second place in the tournament was the team of Paul Johnson, Jay Johnson, Kevin Horne, and Waymon DeLoach.
    


Hare Scramble Race
    
Hunter Franklin of Batesville placed third in the Pee Wee Class in the Hare Scramble Race held in Batesville recently. He was inadvertently left off the list of local winners in Friday’s edition of The Panolian.
