Lendrell Barksdale placed third in the 242-pound class. The junior turned in personal bests in the squat at 525 pounds and in the bench press with 310 pounds. With a 500-pound deadlift, Barksdale eclipsed his previous best total with 1,335 pounds.

Freshman David Harris also finished an impressive third in his first state meet in the 114-pound class. Weighing in at only 106 pounds, Harris totaled 635 pounds, six times his body weight. Harris lifted personal bests in all three events with a 225-pound squat, 135-pound bench, and 275-pound deadlift.

The Tigers (13-13 overall, 2-4 district) finished the season Monday, April 14 in Vicksburg, but the score was not available at press time.

The Tigers fell to Olive Branch 9-0 Friday night. The Tigers traveled to Cleveland Saturday and won 4-1.

Last Tuesday, April 8, the Tigers lost to Southaven 5-1.

The weather was pretty close to perfect for baseball Friday night. The Tigers loaded the bases a few times against Olive Branch, but were unable to get a run across the plate.

Walt Love started on the mound for the Tigers and Ryan Willis relieved him in the fourth inning.

Against Cleveland, catcher Bradley Striplin was hot at the plate. He had three hits, one of which was a homerun. He also had a double.
