We Are at War

Though decisions have been made to keep to ball game schedules during the war in which the United States is now engaged, does not mean the sports world is ignorant of the war.

It means the people in sports have decided to continue to do their jobs as the rest of the people in the nation are continuing to do their jobs.

There are a lot of people who disagree with the war. That’s okay as long as the nation now comes together and support the troops overseas who are fighting this war. Many from this area have been activated and sent overseas to have a large impact on the outcome of this war.

They need to know their people are behind them. They need to have the self-assurance their families and friends who may not agree with their decisions still support their decisions.

They need to know that the people looking after their spouses, children and parents are a solace to them and not tearing down their decisions in words and deeds to their families.

In other words, those who have silently or vocally in deed or words opposed the decision to go to war, need to say "Okay, I did what I felt was right, but now it’s time to accept what’s going on."

The photo on below was forwarded to me from William Correro who writes the Referee Notes during football season.

It’s a powerful photo to remind the troops and the American people why a war is now going on.

Some people may be like me who have mixed emotions when it comes to wars of any kind. But to those who lost loved ones 9-11-01, I think they appreciate people who are willing to see justice done.

So there will be a lot of interruptions of normal television events in order to keep the American people informed about what’s going on overseas. It’s a very scary situation for those who have loved ones on the frontline.

Some of you remember being on the frontlines or backlines or in other support areas in other wars in which the United States has been involved.

People are willing to give their lives for the cause of freedom. It is only right we give them 100 percent of support from America.
God bless America!
