| Trailblazer Registration Set |

The Batesville Trailblazers will have registration on Saturday, March 22 at 10 a.m. at Trussell park. To be eligible to participate on this special needs ball team, the child must be physically and/or mentally unable to play ball anywhere else and be between the ages of three and six.
Players tee shirts will be provided. Parents may purchase a matching tee shirt for $8 due the day of registration.
The South Panola High School Junior Civitan Organization will provide our volunteers this year.
"Our thanks go out to them for giving up their Saturday for this great experience," said Mari Correro, coordinator. "We had a wonderful time last year and invite everyone to come join in our fun."
Games will be played every Saturday in April at 10 a.m. at Trussell Park. For more information, call Correro at 561-0413.

MSU Men and Ladies Head to NCAA Tournament |
| Even though the Mississippi State Bulldogs fell to the Kentucky Wildcats 64-57 in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, Mississippi State was assured a berth in the NCAA tournament.
With that great showing in the SEC this year, the Bulldogs will play in Birmingham in the first round of the tournament. They are the fifth seeded team in the Eastern Regional and will play 12th seeded Butler Friday, March 21, but the time was not released until late Monday afternoon.
The 12th-ranked Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs (23-7) earned their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance, all under the tutelage of head coach Sharon Fanning. The Lady Bulldogs have been named a 3-seed in the Midwest region playing 14-seed Manhattan College in the first round of NCAA competition on Saturday, March 22 at 8:14 p.m. (CT) on either ESPN or ESPN2, at the University Arena in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

| Tigers Put on a Good Show in Tournament |

In an game early in the season against Cleveland High School, South Panola third baseman Jameson Rodgers tags out a runner at third and then throws to first for a double play. Catcher Bradley Striplin (r) was in on the third base out. Shortstop Walt Love (b) was shouting instructions. The Tigers are on the road tonight to play Desoto Central in a rematch at 5 p.m.

BATESVILLE – The South Panola Tiger baseball team competed in the Jamie Clark Memorial Tournament on the campus of East Community College in Meridian, Monday and Tuesday, March 10 and 11.
South Panola (5-5) played the No. 8 ranked Meridian Monday night and lost 1-0. Tyler Brewer had his first loss of the season.
Meridian scored one run in the first inning and the Tiger defense held them scoreless the rest of the game. Meridian had lost earlier in the day to Kosciusko 3-1.
South Panola faced Kosciusko (6-2) Tuesday and lost 4-2. Ryan Willis was on the mound and took the loss for the Tigers.
The Tigers return to regular action after spring break Tuesday, March 18. The Tigers will be at Desoto Central for a March 7 rematch. the varsity team will play at 5 p.m. and the junior varsity will play at 7 p.m.
The Tigers will host Grenada Thursday, March 20 at 4 p.m. in a varsity game. The junior varsity will play at 6:30 p.m. This is the game which was postponed due to inclement weather Feb. 22.
