Though the Green Wave have had limited time to practice outside due to inclement weather at the beginning of practice season, the Green Wave had the bats swinging in the very cold weather.

Getting his first win was Cody Hallmark on the mound. Hallmark pitched four and a third innings and had six strikeouts and four walks.

Hal West relieved Hallmark in the top of the fifth inning and pitched to the end of the game in the sixth.

West had two strikeouts and two walks.

The Green Wave got on the boards first on a Pittman Harrison run on a Cody Hallmark single in the bottom of the first inning. Scoring five runs in the second inning was a big boost for the Green Wave.

Rodgers had two strikeouts, five walks and allowed four hits. He was relieved in the fifth inning by Justin Davis who had three strikeouts, three walks and allowed two hits.

Neither team scored until the Tigers got on the boards first in the bottom of the third inning on a run by Ryan Willis. A single by Walt Love drove Willis home.

A couple of errors by Desoto helped the Tigers get on base and in position to score.

The top of the fourth inning was a different story for the Jaguars. The Jaguars came out hitting and scored three runs to take a 3-1 lead.
The Tigers accepted the gauntlet and turned up the heat on their bats as they scored six runs in the fourth inning.

First at bat in the fourth was Hunter Coy who tripled. Dustin Tidwell singled and drove Coy home. Walter Pang doubled and drove home Tidwell. Luke Kiihnl walked. A single by Willis loaded the bases.

Walt Love doubled and drove home Kiihnl and Willis.

Saturday, the Tigers hosted Cleveland High School, who defeated the Tigers 22-3 in 2002. Well, the tables were turned on those Wildcats.
It was perfect baseball weather to see the newly improve Tiger baseball team emerge the victors with a 5-4 win in seven innings. Ryan Willis pitched the entire game for the Tigers, while his mom Robbie walked the perimeter of the ball field.

Willis had six strikeouts and three walks. He allowed five hits, two were homeruns.

South Panola tied the score 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Tigers loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Luke Kiihnl doubled to get on base. Cleveland did not even bother to throw one pitch to Tyler Brewer and put him base. Willis singled to advance each runner a base. Cleveland did not mean to, but walked Bradley Striplin with one out, which drove home Kiihnl for the winning run.

Cleveland took the lead on a homerun in the top of the first inning. On a couple of defensive errors, Cleveland scored again in the top of the second inning to take a 2-0 lead. Another homerun by Cleveland gave the Wildcats more breathing room with a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning.

The Tiger bats heated up in the bottom of the fourth inning. Willis doubled and drove home Brewer for the Tigers’ first score of the game. Eric Neth singled and drove home Willis to cut the lead 3-2.

Camille Willis was the pitcher for the first game and got the win for a 1-1 record. She had two strikeouts and three walks in seven innings.

Leann Parrish pitched the second game, which was a makeup game, for her first win. She had eight strikeouts and nine walks in four innings.

The Lady Tigers took a 2-0 into the second inning on a single by Amanda Brewer which drove home two runners, Amanda Bolen and Jessica Anderson.

Bruce pulled ahead 4-2 in the bottom of the second inning. The Lady Tigers scored three runs in the third to retake the lead 5-4.

Anderson doubled to put her and Bolen into scoring position. Brewer singled and drove home Bolen. Nicole Sturgis singled to drive home Anderson and Brewer.
