| Corps to celebrate Enid Lake’s 50th year |

| ENID – On Friday, November 1, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will celebrate the 50th anniversary of operation for Enid Lake.
Construction on the dam began on February 1, 1947, and it was put into operation in December 1952.
Ceremonies will be held at the north end of Enid Dam at the site of Enid’s new Administrative Building.
Activities will begin at 10 a.m. with Senator Thad Cochran presenting the keynote address.
Following the 50th Anniversary Celebration, a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held to dedicate the new Administrative Building.
Tours of the new building will be conducted along with boat tours of Enid Dam and facilities.
Personnel at Enid Lake would like to extend an invitation to everyone to come help us celebrate our 50 years of service to our nation.

Factory Stores site for theatre |

| BATESVILLE – Northwest Delta Choral & Arts Council will present a Dinner Theatre starring Nationally recognized actor-director, Elliot Street as "Theodore Roosevelt, A Romp with The Colonel" on Friday, November 8th at 7 p.m. at the Factory Stores of Batesville’s Food Court.
This is a one-man performance which provides an entertaining and educational view of America politics and history. Mr. Street will put the audience on the campaign trail with the first president if the 20th century.
Tickets are available through the Panola Partnership office located at 107 Public Square in Batesville and Arts Council board members. Tickets for the Dinner are available for Arts Council members at $15; non-member $20. Reservations for Dinner must be made by November 4th. Flippo to Dance in New York,
Needs More Funds |

Brittany Flippo will march in the Macy’s Day Parade on November 28, in New York City, televised live on CBS.
Flippo won the honor of this trip by attending the UCA cheerleader camp in Panama City Beach, Fla., back in July. Several hundred schools from all around attended this competition camp in Florida.
Flippo will fly to New York City on November 23 and return on November 29. Several outfits are required for the dance team to take part in the parade.
The trip is very expensive and paid for through sponsors for Flippo.
She still needs funds for her trip. Flippo has been dancing for 12 years and has been a cheerleader for six years. Flippo, a senior at North Delta, is captain of the varsity cheerleadering squad and the daughter of James and Shelia Flippo. |

| Voters to Decide Term for Judges in Election |

| The Nov. 5 ballot will include a Constitutional amendment which will allow voters to decide whether to increase chancery and circuit judges’ terms from four years to six years.
Following is the Senate Concurrent Resolution 543 for the proposed amendment.
A Concurrent Resolution proposing an amendment to section 153, Mississippi Constitution of 1890, to increase the terms of circuit court judges and chancellors from four to six years beginning January 1, 2003; and for related purposes.

| Pope class of ’57 to reunite |

| POPE – The Pope School senior class of 1957 will have a class reunion on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Batesville Western Sizzlin, starting at 5:30 p.m.
Any other Pope High students are welcomed to attend. The more, the merrier.
