BATESVILLE – Though it was not the prettiest football game, the No. 2 South Panola Tigers defeated unranked Columbus 14-3, Friday, October 11.

The 7-0 Tigers will pack up and head for Tupelo, Friday, October 18. Kickoff time has been changed to 7 p.m., according to South Panola High School principal Dr. Del Phillips.

In a huge district game for both teams, Columbus struck first on a 37 yard field goal with 3:16 left to go in the first quarter. Unfortunately for Columbus, but fortunately for the Tigers, that was the Falcons’ only score of the night.

CHARLESTON – The North Delta Green Wave fell in the last minute 12-6 to the Strider Academy Rams, Friday, October 11.

The Green Wave traveled about 25 miles to take on the Rams in a heated rivalry game. Even though it was not a conference game, it is always a big game between the two schools.

The field was very wet and in bad shape from all the rain earlier in the week.
