$30,000 for Computers, Equipment Monitors Installed

BATESVILLE – Career and technical education director Billy Smith told the South Panola School District Board of Trustees that Batesville Intermediate School and Pope School will receive "project achieve" grants.
Smith reports that $30,000 worth of computers and equipment were being ordered.
"We’re receiving a second lab for our agricultural AEST program," Smith said. "This will allow Mr. Redd [the instructor] to have his own lab for concepts class."
New Heating System Needed at North Panola

SARDIS – A technical analyst and engineer gave an update on the North Panola School District’s boiler system.
Technical analyst Henry Sanford and engineer Donny Thompson, both of the Mississippi Development Authority’s energy division, addressed the North Panola School District Board of Trustees.
"The problem with the boiler is that it’s older than most of us in this room," Sanford said. "For the future, we recommend it be replaced."
Sanford added that he didn’t have any savings figures on hand, but would by the next meeting in October.
He told board members the new boiler would operate more efficiently.
The Carson and Barnes 5-Ring Circus came to Batesville Tuesday and Wednesday, October 1 and 2, bringing with them a variety of circus activities, shows and entertainment.
Clowns, such as the one shown above, provided children with circus balloons. For your entertainment, there were also a petting zoo, elephant rides, tigers jumping through hoops lit with fire, tightrope walkers and ladies on the trapeze.
