Victim Stabbed Multiple Times

BATESVILLE –
A Sardis woman is free on $25,000 bond after allegedly assaulting and stabbing a woman Thursday, June 20.

Angela Denise Russell, of 13323A Highway 315 West, Sardis, is charged with aggravated assault.
 


Center Nears Construction Phase

BATESVILLE – If the grading work is not ready by the time the contractor is ready, the City of Batesville will have to make arrangements to complete the grading and asphalt work of the parking lot at a later date, Grenada architect Girault Jones said of the Batesville Civic Center project.

Jones provided city officials with an update on the project during a recent meeting.

The many aspects of the project were explained in detail to board members by Jones.

Police Department Needs More Space, says Chief

BATESVILLE – Law enforcement officers don’t have enough room to operate, says Batesville Police Chief Roger Vanlandingham.

"We’re out of room," Vanlandingham told the Batesville Board of Aldermen at a recent meeting. "There are two buildings available on the Square."
