Cut Your Costs on Project: Center Discussed

BATESVILLE – A Water Valley company pitched its construction management services for the Batesville Civic Center to city leaders last week, claiming it could save the city about 9.5 percent on the $9 million project.
Three representatives from Carothers Construction Co. approached the Batesville Board of Aldermen about the project, indicating they could offer cost-cutting measures on the project.
Nine Count Indictment Issued

BATESVILLE – The Grand Jury issued a nine count indictment against a Batesville woman and her two daughters.
Juanita Manley and her two daughters, LaChandra Davis and Katonya Davis, were arrested shortly following the April 19 indictment.

SpringFest Set in Batesville This Weekend
SpringFest 2002 will be held in downtown Batesville this weekend, Friday and Saturday, May 17 and 18.
The event begins Friday evening, with live entertainment and barbecue.
On Saturday, SpringFest begins at 11 a.m., with entertainment including Exile, Venus Mission, The Wild Magnolias, The Earth Angels, J. Monque’D. Blues Band, Krossover, Southern Country and Billy Grantham.
There will be carnival rides, games and concessions.
Admission is free.
$8,000 Gap Seen in Bid Range
