Sat., Oct. 10

Jerusalem M.B. Church of Batesville will honor its pastor and wife (Luster and Barbara King) with a banquet 6 p.m. at the Sardis PGA Building on Hwy 51.

The Martin Luther Crusaders will have its first annual Sadie L. Harrison Music Scholarship Banquet at 6 p.m. at Salem M.B. Church Fellowship Hall in Courtland. For more information call Classie Dixon at 934-2759.


Sun., Oct. 11

Jerusalem M.B. Church will celebrate the second year anniversary of the ministry of its pastor and his wife at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Pastor Eric Nelson.

The 15 years of ministry and service of Pastor and Mrs. John Keeler will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. at Oak Hill M.B. Church.  Pastor Willie Love of Brick Academy and Mt. Zion Hardy will be the speaker for the event.

The Springfield Radio Chorus will start their 47th anniversary celebration at Como C.M.E. Church at 7:30 p.m. Many groups will be present.

Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Enid will have homecoming beginning at 10 a.m. Fellowship dinner will begin at noon. For more information call 623-9974.

Pope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church will honor their pastor and wife with a love day celebration. Rev. Jessie Frison and Mt. Level Church will be the special guests at 3 p.m. Rev. Nehemiah Martin is the pastor.

New Providence M.B. Church will have its pastor appreciation program honoring Rev. Sidney Townes for 17 years of service. The 11 a.m. speaker will be Rev. Larry W. Ware and the 3 p.m. speaker will be Rev. Barney Martin, pastor of United M.B. Church in Water Valley. A fellowship reception will be held immediately after the 11 a.m. service.

Springhill Pope M.B. Church will have its annual male chorus anniversary  at 3 p.m. Several groups are invited. Rev. Willie Forest Jr. is the  pastor.

Lester Hill Family Life Center located on the Mt. Gillion church campus will have “The Big Anniversary of the Couzens” at 6 p.m. featuring St. Peter Church Choir with Min. Danny Bell of the Memphis Harmonizers. Many musical guests will be present including: Bell Singers, Supreme Harmonetts, Sons of Wonder and many more. The First United Pentecostal Church Revival Center will host missionary Steve Smith in a service at 10 a.m. He serves in Guyana.


Oct. 11-14

Good Hope Baptist Church will hold revival services with Truman Scarborough as speaker. Frank West will lead the music. Times are 11 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. Mon.-Wed.


Oct. 11-15

Everyone is invited to the  annual  Camp Meeting at  Bethany Baptist Church, corner of Eureka and Hubbard Roads. Service times are:  Sunday 10 and 11 a.m, and 6 p.m.  Evening services for Monday-Wednesday  are at 7 p.m. and morning services for Tuesday - Thursday will be at 10 a.m. Special music will be provided by the Nelsons and the Enlighteners.


Sat., Oct. 17

Mt. Zion M.B. Church will have its first community health fair from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the church on 316 Lincoln Street in Sardis. There will be door prizes and refreshments served. For more information call Willie Stokes at 487-1409 or Lula Palmer at 487-3300.

Mt. Zion Baptist Outreach Ministry’s Pastor Aide Committee will sponsor a bake sale at 8 a.m. at Piggly Wiggly. Rev. J.N. Mobley is the pastor.

New Hope Church of God will celebrate its 40th year anniversary at 10 a.m. with singing and special speaker James Strange at 11:15 a.m. followed by a potluck.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church Outreach Ministry will have musician appreciation at 3 p.m. Rev. J.N. Mobley is the pastor.

Spring Hill M.B. Church in Crenshaw will have its annual choir day at 3 p.m.

The Two Tenors will be in concert at First Baptist Church in Batesville at 6 p.m. in the worship center.


Sun., Oct. 25

The First Baptist Church of Como will celebrate the second anniversary of Pastor Chris and Tina Fairlee at 3 p.m. Pastor David Walton and the Manifold Wisdom COGIC will be the special guests.  All family and friends are invited to attend.

Mt. Zion Baptist Outreach Ministry will have its annual  Women-n-Hat’s Day program at 3 p.m. Pastor Robert Griffin of the Sykes M.B. Church in Lambert will be the guest speaker.


Fri., Oct. 30

Spring Hill M.B. Church in Crenshaw is sponsoring a black and white attire banquet at Marks Community Center at 6 p.m. For more information call Bobbie Flowers at 934-4208.


Sun., Nov. 1

New Hope Church of God will have special speaker Gerald Crabb at 6 p.m.


 Nov. 2-5

Church of God District Revival will be held at Goodwill Church of God and 560 Jamison Road in Marks at 7 nightly. Youth night is Monday and Gerald Crabb will be special speaker Tuesday and Wednesday.


Nov. 13-15

The New Destiny Church Women’s Ministry will hold its Women of Excellence Conference beginning Friday at 7 p.m. with Linda Jones of Victory in Christ Community Church Ministries as the speaker; Saturday at 11 a.m. Julie Bibbs with Manifold Wisdom Church of God in Christ will speak along with Breast Cancer Awareness speaker Tammy Campbell, R.N.
